Khamsa is a protective palm-shaped amulet used by Jews and Arabs. Other names are “Miriam's hand”, “Fatima's hand”; also "God's hand", "God's palm". Hamsa is used as a protective amulet against the evil eye.
Star of David, hexagram, Solomon's seal, Gegendovid - the names of the six-pointed star are many, but even more values, hidden and explicit. The most common explanation for a hexagram is that it is a compound and a combination of masculine (triangle pointing up) and feminine (triangle pointing down).
